Things have been going along as usual here. We laid my dad's remains to rest on Saturday, so that chapter is closed, though never gone. Teddy had a good weekend--we went to Shaw's Garden on Saturday afternoon & then to the zoo yesterday while it was drizzling out. He did pretty darn good at both places, not to mention the time we spent at the cemetery & my nephew's house on Saturday. We increased his Lamictal dose again on Thursday to 175mg in the AM as well as the PM. Ironically he had 2 very mild seizures over the weekend, though I'm hopeful that it's just a fluke.
We had a loud storm blow through last night right as Teddy was going to sleep, therefore every time he was about to knock off a loud thunder crash would wake him up again. He loves to watch storms too, so a couple of times when he woke up from the thunder we let him look out the window. Finally the only way he stayed asleep was when Alan laid down on the ground right by his bed. After about 10 minutes Alan came crawling out into the living room on his hands & knees, & Teddy stayed asleep the rest of the night.
The picture above is of the new stingray petting area at the zoo. Teddy suddenly wanted to see them for the first time Sunday, though his reason may have been the nice waterfall you can just make out behind him. Those things are amazing! I pet them a couple times, they feel like catfish--slimy & rubbery. Though you wouldn't think it possible, they seem rather friendly too. They kept swimming by us, waving their "wingtips" at us. And once they had a big fight or something & one of them jumped out of the water & splashed us! I asked the volunteer next to me, a young teen aged girl, if that happened a lot. She said she'd never seen it happen before! So I guess we either made the stingrays really happy or really agitated. Either way, we had a good time.
